Clay Mitchell Garrett
December 20, 1962 – May 19, 2023 (Age 60)
Clay Mitchell Garrett was born on December 20, 1962 in Houston Texas and passed away in Colorado Springs on May 19,2023. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ishmael Eugene Garrett and Marilyn Lee Mullins Garrett.
He is survived by his wife Zeus Daquina Garrett; brother Lex Eugene Eaton, sisters Shonda Carol Garrett Williams & Tara Suzanne Garrett Woods; son Chase Mitchell Garrett; one niece Lauren Alexandra Williams; two nephews Blake Mathew Williams & Ian Anthony Palacio and numerous cousins; Andrew Moskovitz his business partner and best friend.
He was the co-owner of Urban Edge Denver Colorado and a formal Associate Curator-Herpetology at the Fort Worth Zoo. He was a former Research Technician at the Dallas Zoo.
He was an enormously creative and talented individual, whose urge to create extended to illustration, exhibit design, home construction, fly fishing and custom knife making.
Clay, thank you for enriching our lives and teaching us to love the world, nature and its inhabitants. You made the world a brighter place.
