Daniel Forrest Allis

Daniel Forrest Allis, 68, passed away on November 15, 2019 in Colorado Springs, CO. Dan was born on October 24, 1951 and adopted by godly parents, Thomas and Mary Katherine (Hunter) Allis in Louisville, KY.  A graduate of Butler High School (1970) and Anderson College (1977), he knew from a young age that he was called to spend his life as a pastor and counselor. He pastored churches in Oklahoma, Maryland, and was involved in ministry in Colorado Springs. He was a gifted musician and recorded the album "Dreams, Decisions, & Discipleship" in 1974. Dan also used his music to minister across the country at numerous youth camps and other conventions. At age 50 he faced one of the greatest challenges in his life when he received a diagnosis of late stage lymphoma cancer. Through the wisdom of the doctors and prayers of many, he experienced miraculous healing and beat cancer. This testimony became a part of his ministry. In his later years, Dan was a beloved member of the Springs Church where he faithfully served and touched many lives.
Dan's children were the light of his life. He loved the Colorado mountains, playing his guitar, photography, and his dog, Reagan Liberty. A collection of his creative works and ministry can be found at www.danallis.com.
He is survived by his children Josiah and Molly K Allis, former spouse of 37 years, Bonnie Shelton, sister Velda Ruth Rogers, brother-in-law Kenneth Cooper, and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by sister, Treva Cooper and parents, Thomas and Mary Katherine Allis.
