Donald “Steven” Zigler
5/22/1953 – 4/12/2022
Steven (of Lakewood), 68, was born in Denver, CO on May 22, 1953. He passed away in Colorado Springs on April 12th with his family by his side. He graduated from Denver East High School in 1973. Some of his fondest memories were of playing football for East HS. In 1974, he went to work for the Denver Federal Center for 38 years until his retirement in 2012. During this time he also worked part-time at Ace Hardware for about 15 years. In his retirement, he worked as a custodian at the Rocky Mountain Deaf School in Lakewood. Steven was well-known for his sense of humor, his pranks, his love for the Denver Broncos, his big heart for helping others without asking for anything in return, and his very outgoing personality. He had a knack for making friends no matter where he went. The memorial service for Steven took place at Centennial Covenant Church on April 23rd. The burial service will be a privately held at a later date.
Steven was preceded in death by his parents, Don and Doris Zigler of Denver, and brother-in-law Edward Vlasin of Nine Mile Falls, WA. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Bryan (Myranda) Zigler and 3 grandchildren of Colorado Springs. Steven is also survived by his two sisters Peggy (Randy) Barnes of Conifer, Mary Vlasin of Nine Mile Falls, WA; nephews Todd (Toni) Barrionuevo of Denver, Marcus (Sheryl) Vlasin of Cleveland, OH; niece Stacey (Dave) Joslin of Littleton; other family members, and countless friends. Steven will be missed by all those who knew him.
