James V. Bradley, a resident of Colorado Springs since 1968, was called home on Sunday, February 3rd, 2019. He was born on October 11th, 1929 in Lynchburg, VA. James enlisted in the U.S. Army on March 24th, 1948; during is time in service he proudly served in the Korean and Vietnam Wars. Master Sergeant Bradley retired honorably from the U.S. Army on May 31st 1968. He went on to become a civil servant for the Colorado Social Services Office, where he worked until retirement. After serving in the military for over 20 years and retiring from civil service, James donated to veterans groups throughout his retirement. James loved designing and building things with his hands. He also had a passion for traveling the open road in his RV with his beloved wife Dorothea. James and Dorothea, members of the Good Sam Club, made the best of life by traveling to and resting in 44 out of 50 states. They also attended many family reunions and cruised extensively to various ports of call.James was preceded in death by Dorothea, his wife of over 55 years, and his parents John and Margarette Bradley. He is survived by two daughters, Mary Joe Bradley and Marguerite (Reginald) Winston, his sister Violetta Hurt, three grandchildren, Courtney Winston (Willie Butler), Jamie (John) Pennington, and Damien Winston (Naomi Rosario), eight great-grandchildren Jaryn, Jaden, Trevon, Avant, Amari, Joseph, Mila, and Rya, many friends, and extended family. He will be missed by all who loved and knew him. May we all wish him well on his greatest journey yet.
