James "Jim" Earl Huff
Obituary
James "Jim" Earl Huff, 71, of Colorado Springs, passed away on November 24th at UCHealth after a long illness.
Jim was born on May 28, 1951, in Decatur, Illinois and is the son of Earl and Virginia Huff (Slocum). He graduated from MacArthur High School in 1969. After high school he moved out to Colorado Springs where he started his life-long career being a concrete pump operator. He retired from Smelker Concrete Pumping in 2016. Jim was an avid sports enthusiast and favored his Colorado and Illinois sports teams. He had a smile that could light the room and a personality as big as his heart. He will be greatly missed and loved all the way up to the sky and back down to the ground.
He is proceeded in death by his parents and his beloved dogs, Kami, and Kilo.
He is survived by his pride and joy, his children, Johnny Thomas Huff and Hannah Virginia Curtis (Casey) and his Grandson, Cullen John Curtis. Brother, Thomas Huff and sisters, Julia (Steve) Wells and Anne (David) Smelker, nieces and nephews, and many life-long friends.
A celebration of his life will be held at Phantom Canyon Brewing – Billiards Room in Colorado Springs on Saturday, January 28th from 1 to 5 p.m. Please come have some lunch, drink a beer, and share a story.
