Jane Rosalie Feland (Matchette), 79, of Colorado Springs found peace and left us on December 11, 2022, following a battle against Parkinson's Disease. She is survived by her husband Armstead Feland, her daughters Karla Shotts, and Paula Anderson, son-in-law Jim, Tamara Bishop and son-in-law Bryan, Maria Peterson and son-in-law Lars, Lara Lyde, and son-in-law Eric. As well as her 15 amazing grandchildren Dylan, Kelsy, Lauren, Alan, Andrew, Nichole, Tara, Michael, Aidan, Keira, Quinn, Greger, Micah, Olivia, Caleb, and one great-grandchild Nora.
Her life was a field of beautiful wildflowers. She grew like a Sweet Alyssum, pushing with all her might, rising between concrete slabs in Los Angeles, California.
If you ever stopped to look at a life strong enough to break through the sidewalks, you would feel hope, courage, willpower, and determination. This was the force that was Jane Feland. You could feel these small but significant signs of power within her in every life she touched and every project into which she ventured.
Along the path of her life, from L.A. to Florida, Colorado, and Arkansas, she dropped seeds that grew into a colorful, diverse family, friendships, and vivid experiences. She tilled her garden with hard work, unmatched organizational skills, and a warm smile. She made friends with everyone she met and protected her seedling family members in the harshest of storms.
She never has to fear leaving this earth because when she looks from above, she will see the beauty in what she has left behind — growing, thriving, and blooming in the wildflower garden she built.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Colorado Horse Rescue in honor of Jane Feland. She spent many years taking care of and riding horses and found great joy in the magnificent animals.
