Leo G Sauerbier

Leo G. Sauerbier passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 18, 2022 at 2:26pm at the age of 78.  Leo is predeceased by his loving mother Anna Sauerbier and loving wife Lillian.  He is survived by his son Michael (Kim) Thayer, grandsons Bradley (Jessica) Sustad, Dakota Thayer, and two great grandchildren.  Leo was born and raised in New York State.  He proudly served in the US NAVY and then worked at the New York State Department of Labor as the Veterans Outreach Specialist and then Employment Service.  While working there is where he met his wife Lillian.  He traveled to Colorado a few times and fell in love with the state.  He and Lillian retired and moved to Colorado to rest and relax and live out their life together.  He loved all of his extended family and friends at the Silver Dollar in Walsenburg Colorado where they affectionally knew him as “White Wolf”.  He also enjoyed relaxing at his home watching television.  He will be greatly missed and was loved dearly by all.
