Linda Kay Picarillo, 70, of Colorado Springs, CO, passed away on May 15, 2024, peacefully at home with the love of her life by her side.
Linda was born on March 2, 1954, in Colorado Springs, CO. Her mother, Evalyn Dopheide, adored her daughter and enjoyed watching her grow. Throughout Linda's childhood she had many friendships that molded her into a loving and caring individual. She attended Mitchell High School in Colorado Springs, yet became quickly intrigued with other interests and passions.
Linda studied and became a cosmetologist in her teens. She started out cutting hair at Dale's Hair, and then continued to cut hair at the Wave. Already being an active pool player, Linda started working for the Billard's Congress of America (BCA) in 1996. During her time with the BCA she worked as a marketing lead, as well as, attended billiards tournaments in Las Vegas. One of her main goals during this time was for billiards to be recognized and adopted as an Olympic sport. Unfortunately, even with much hard work, this never came to fruition.
In 2004, Linda became part owner of the Adam's Apple, a local bar and establishment that welcomed anyone and everyone. She was a friend to those who stepped through the front door and welcomed them with open arms, often putting on holiday gatherings and special events whenever possible.
When Linda was not working, she enjoyed many different recreational activities. She often spent time creating jewelry and attending jewelry conventions, camping and boating where she spent time with friends and family, traveling to Las Vegas or Cripple Creek where she enjoyed playing slot machines and video poker, and of course, cheering on her beloved Denver Broncos.
Linda loved to be a wife, mother, and above all else, a grandmother. She adored each of her grand "babies" and always wanted them to be happy. She truly had a gift for making them feel loved.
Linda is survived by her husband, Matt, her children, Shamie and Justin (Shannon), her grandchildren, Jacob, Caleb, Aiden, McKinsey, Eva and Owen, and her siblings Chris and Jerry.
Linda will never be forgotten. She has instilled many memories and loving moments in us all. We will always love you sweet baby girl!
