Summary of Life
Romie was born in Del Rio, Graduated from Sacred Heart Catholic School 1960. She met James M Burkeen an Air Force GI, married in 1963. His military career sent them to many unique places in the United States.
After retiring from Air Force they returned to Del Rio. Romie devoted her life to her beloved residents at the Del Rio Nursing Home as Activity Director, she also worked at a local Group Home for Disabled Adults. And later she was a home care provider. She was a self-taught seamstress, Knitter, Crocheter, and Crafter. She was a devoted wife, mother and friend. She also had a special bond with her grandchildren that she loved deeply.
