Obituary

Marion Burke died January 25th, 2023 at the age of 84 in Colorado Springs.

He is survived by wife Carole Burke and daughter Micala Goerke both of CO; sister Arleta Pulley of MO; grandchildren Joshua Burke of IA, Tiera Burke of SC, Annah Goerke of Thailand, Caleb Goerke and Allison Goerke both of CO; and many cousins. Proceeded in death by Lewis and Lorene Burke MO, and son Phil Burke of AZ.

Marion had many roles other than being a good husband and father. He farmed in King City/Empire Prairie, served as a deputy in Nodaway County, and was a salesman for O’Reilly Auto Parts in AZ. Shortly after his retirement, he and Carole moved from AZ to CO in order to be near family.

He enjoyed being a licensed small plane pilot, often flying friends and family to meetings, interviews or cattle sales. Some friends called him “Stoney”, and for his entire life he was easily recognized by his characteristic boots and cowboy hat.

Following a private burial, the family would be grateful to see you for a reception at  First Christian Church of King City on February 11th from 2:00pm-3:30pm to share memories of Marion together.
