Michael Joseph Schneider “Schniz”

Michael Joseph Schneider, 40, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, went to his heavenly home on June 18, 2026.

Born on November 22, 1985, in Atlanta, Georgia, Michael lived a life filled with love and laughter. He attended Woodward Academy in Atlanta and graduated from the University of Mississippi in 2008 with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. He was a proud member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity and a devoted Ole Miss Rebels fan. Michael also enthusiastically supported his hometown Atlanta teams, especially the Falcons and Braves.

Michael built a successful career as General Manager of Priority Roofing. He moved to Colorado Springs to launch the company’s residential and commercial business. He and his team built the business into one of the top three of thirty-five locations. He loved his work, the camaraderie he shared with his colleagues, and he especially loved their spirited ping pong competitions. Outside of work, Michael embraced the outdoors and enjoyed hiking, tennis, golf, and friendly competitions with friends.

Michael loved his hometown of Atlanta and, above all, his family. He grew up with his stepbrother Zack and stepsister Kelly and was very close to his stepfather, Tom. He stayed connected with a large group of Atlanta friends and loved the vacations they shared together. He treasured his beloved dog, Winston, his constant companion on countless walks along Colorado’s hiking trails. Michael loved being an uncle and especially enjoyed spending time with his nieces and nephew. He also cherished time with family and friends at his family’s home on Lake Burton. While Michael’s absence leaves a profound void, his legacy of laughter, loyalty, generosity, and love will continue through the countless lives he touched. Those who knew him will forever remember his smile, his competitive spirit, and the way he made every gathering brighter simply by being there.

He is survived by his mother, Valerie Usilton, and stepfather, Tom Usilton, of Atlanta, Georgia; his stepmother, Gloria Schneider; his stepsister, Kelly Cole, and her husband, Woody, of Carrollton, Georgia; his stepbrother, Zack Usilton, and his wife, Anne, of Atlanta, Georgia; his beloved nieces and nephew, Fin, Frannie, Caroline, and Lanier; his aunt and uncle, Angie and Mark Graves, of Atlanta, Georgia; his cousin, Rachel Flanigan, of Savannah, Georgia; and his cousin, Justin Caldwell, of Dallas, Texas. Michael was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Schneider.

 A service will be held on June 29 at 11:00am at Peachtree Presbyterian Church at 3434 Roswell Road, Atlanta, Georgia 30305. A reception will follow the service in the Williams Center downstairs from the Sanctuary.
