Sharon Ann Green Oleszek

Sharon Ann Green Oleszek, age 83, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on June 2, 2026. 

Born on June 19, 1942, Sharon was raised in Lincoln Park, Michigan, a place she always held close to her heart. A Detroit girl through and through, some of her fondest memories were growing up alongside her three brothers and two sisters in the close-knit community she loved so dearly. Sharon graduated from Holy Redeemer High School in Detroit, Michigan, and continued her education at business school following graduation. 

Sharon married the love of her life and high school sweetheart, Jerry. Their early married life included time spent in Endicott, Syracuse, and Kingston, New York, where she enjoyed swimming and tennis at the IBM pool while creating cherished memories with her family. 

Sharon later moved to Colorado Springs, where she spent most of her family life. She built a meaningful career and was especially proud of her 18 years as Alumni Office Manager at Colorado College, where she was respected for her professionalism, kindness, and dedication. 

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, Loretta Green and James Green; her brothers, Edward Green, William Green, and Bryce Green; and her sister, Norma Charnock. 

She is survived by her devoted husband of 61 years, Dr. Jerry Oleszek; her son, Dr. Ken Oleszek and his wife, Dr. Joyce Oleszek; her daughter, Kristine Oleszek; her sister, Pat Butler; and her beloved grandsons, Merrick Oleszek and Mitchell Oleszek. 

Sharon’s greatest joy in life was her family. She was the giver of love and compassion, always there with a warm hug, a comforting back rub, gentle words, unwavering support, and, at times, an unexpected wit. Her sweetness and compassion were felt by all who knew her. She also truly enjoyed Saturday mornings at Oliver's Deli, the warmth and friendship of her home neighbors, and the VMCCA car club. 

Her son, Ken, and daughter, Kristine, shared, “We had the best childhood. She remained actively involved in our lives well into adulthood. If you knew one of us, you knew our Mom. She was always there, sharing our joys, milestones, and everyday moments.” 

To her family, Sharon was the rock, the stability, and, most of all, the ever-present love that held everyone together. Her strength, kindness, grace, and unconditional love created a foundation that will continue to guide her family for generations to come. 

A celebration of Sharon’s life will be announced at a later date. Family and friends are invited to honor her memory and cherish the many joyful moments and loving memories she shared throughout her life. 

She will be deeply missed, forever remembered, and always loved.
