Valerie A. Griffin, born November 17, 1953, passed away on October 6, 2024, at the age of 70. A free spirit with a deep passion for gardening, Valerie loved planting fruit trees and flowers, enriching her surroundings with beauty and life.
She began sewing at the age of 11 and dedicated her life to this craft, specializing in exquisite renaissance era costumes. Valerie also enjoyed crocheting, creating hats, slippers, scarves, blankets, and sweaters for anyone in need of warmth.
Fluent in French, she cherished her summer spent in France at the age of 16, which greatly influenced her love for culture and creativity. A devoted Nichiren Buddhist, Valerie found strength and inspiration in her faith, often chanting "Nam-myoho-renge-kyo."
She is preceded in death by her father Melvin, ex-husband Darrell, and son Adam. Valerie is survived by her mother Constance, sister Corrine, three children—April, Brian, and Rosie—and six grandchildren, who will forever treasure her memory and the love she shared.
